How the quiz scores you
Each answer adds points to the areas it fits, based on the geography, zoning and services described on the neighbourhoods page. For example, wanting acreage scores Coldstream Valley and Lavington highly because that's where the agricultural and rural residential zones are; wanting to be close to Vernon favours Middleton Mountain and Central Coldstream.
Budget bands are rough and based on a small sample of 2026 asking prices, not sales data, so a surprising result is worth a conversation. A modest home near Kal Beach or a small acreage in the valley can land in a different band from the area's typical listing.
What the quiz can't tell you
- Whether a particular street has a view that will last
- Whether a home is on sewer or septic
- Its school catchment (check the SD22 locator)
- How it sits for wildfire interface and insurance
